Materials
Wood (stock ranges)
Plywood and hardwood stock in a range of common sizes — ask about specific species and grades.
Engineering plastics
Machinable plastics such as acrylic, HDPE and nylon in standard stock sizes.
See full stock ranges and finish notes on the materials page. CNC items are always reviewed quotes — prices are confirmed at quote time.
Tolerances
Achievable tolerance for CNC machined parts depends heavily on material, geometry, fixturing and tool access, so we confirm tolerances per part during review rather than quoting a single figure up front. As a general guide, ± 0.1–0.3 mm is typical for straightforward geometry in our stock materials. Tell us about any critical dimensions, finish requirements or fits in the notes field when you upload, and we'll confirm what's achievable as part of your firm quote.
Frequently asked questions
Why isn't my price instant?
CNC machining involves more variables — stock size, fixturing, tool access and finishing — that our automated system can't fully price on its own. We give you an instant estimate range, then one of our engineers reviews your files and confirms a firm price, usually within 1 business day.
What materials can you machine?
At launch we offer wood and engineering plastics from standard stock ranges. If you need a material outside this list, contact us before you upload — we may still be able to help.
Can you machine metal?
Not through our CNC milling service at launch — this covers wood and engineering plastics only. For turned metal parts, see our lathe turning service.
What tolerances can you hold?
Achievable tolerance depends on your material, geometry and features. We confirm the tolerance we can hold as part of the firm quote review — mention any critical dimensions in your notes when you upload.
Do you need a drawing as well as a 3D file?
A STEP file is enough to get started, but a supplementary dimensioned drawing (PDF or DXF) helps us understand tolerances, finish and anything that isn't obvious from the model. You can attach one in the quote wizard's notes step.
